Standing in a river – 2010 edition

Every fall, some of my best friends and I make our way up to the Skeena watershed in Northern BC to do some steelhead fishing. What’s a steelhead you ask? Well, it’s a rainbow trout that gets nice and fat by eating non-stop in the ocean. When they return to the river they were born in to spawn, we do our best to catch them. Some years are better than others, with stronger returns of fish, and 2010 was definitely one of those years. They call the steelhead ‘the fish of a thousand casts’ – and from previous years experience, I can vouch for that. Of course I’m not going to head out on a trip like this without my camera equipment, safely cradled in a waterproof case. If you want to see more, check out the video my friend Jarrod put together from the same trip here: http://www.vimeo.com/19342985
